2000 Hamacher Pinot Noir

Oregon, Willamette Valley.

Very dense color, turning to purple. Somewhat floral nose with cherries. Decanted about 20 minutes before starting to drink. Round, good fruit, good varietal characteristics. Bottle went like a flash, but there really wasn't any conversation between us about it, and afterwards I asked Anne what she thought. Her response was "Eh." Pretty much sums up my thoughts: Good, but pretty nondescript. Nothing exciting. 13% alc. Received as gift, but runs about $40, I think. Not a $40 wine, IMHO. FWIW, WE gave it a 90, so maybe it's us who are wrong about it.
