Bordeaux. They wanted to try some 2000s' even tho I tried to gently push them to a vintage with some whiskers, but they'd have it no ther way. They picked the La Lagune as the 1st.A classic Lagune that hadn't shut down yet. Floral, brite fruits and soft tannin. Needs another 6-8 to develop the lush nose this lovely property exhibits.
89-91/92. 25 by the box on futures.13% alc.
Next came the lovely Lagrange.Nose more assertive than the Lagune with floral, cigar-box, black fruits, spices and all came across on the finish with loads of fine tannins. Another baby that should be a killer when it grows up. 90-93/96. 24 by the box on futures. 13% alc. The last bottle we tried was the Carrudes de Lafite.
Beautifully structered bottle with tons of lush fruits, plums and currants, pencil shavings, meaty notes mingled with sweet spices. Bodacious finish that almost hit the legenday 5-lapper but fell slightly short. NEEDS TIME! My next venture with these suckers will be after 08. 92-94/97. 28 by the box on futures.13% alc. WW
