tonylee, if IK gave you a complete rundown on me it would have included that I no longer get wrapped in the hyperbole connected to wine--such as, Bordeaux being the "Mecca."

Over the years I have come to the conclusion that the subjective nature of wine appreciation, coupled with individual human ego, has made wine into something more revered than it is or should be. It's a special product indeed, but no place or producer has a lock on its special-ness. Of course, wine being subjective, my opinion could be dead wrong; but me being human and filled with ego, I doubt it...

To be sure, I have my favorites, but I try not to inflict too much onto others. My aim on this board is to answer the questions I think I can, and also to try as hard as I can to tackle myths and misinformation connected to wine.

My other interest is that wine is food, and so I like very much to keep that in mind when I write about wine.

As for Tom Stevenson: IK if he is a regular on this board lately I have missed his postings. Where are you Tom? Where have you been?

Incidentally, I have been to Bordeaux, among many other wine regions. My favorites: Friuli Venezia Giulia and Banyuls sur Mer. But that's today.
