2000 Chateau Grand_Pontet

I figured that I deserved a nice one today.

This is a St. Emilion Grand Cru and the colour was a very nice, very dark ruby/purple color.

The nose had a smooth oak with mint and something else pleasant that I can't put my hands on. It has a big, fleshy feel, the tannins begin rather significant here. After some (like hours) in the decanter, it subsided a bit to show very nice layers of chocolate, fruit, cherry and a nice hint of coffee at the end. Really nice wine with a really nice structure. Good long finish. I think this one will age just nicely.

75% Merlot, 15% Franc, and 10% Cabernet.
