Listed by my order of preference:

2004 Shafer 1.5 Cabernet - took a good thirty minutes, but this wine was just singing with dark fruit, a huge nose of current, dark cherries, wonderful texture in the mouth, and lovely firm tannins. Wonderful wine.

2000 A. Clape Cornas - Deep nose of earth and fruit with leather and mineral on a long finish. Very structured and wonderful with food. Perfect with the Lamb chop that I was enjoying.

2002 L'aventure Syrah - Bright blue berry fruit, deeply concertrated, long finish. Has a deep refinement of high quality cali Syrah. Excellent wine.

2005 Amon Ra - Lovely floral bouquet of dark fruit, leads with a fair amount of oak followed by deep, dark, and densely concentrated Shiraz. Long finish. Another fantastic wine that has not quite come together yet. Still a little disjointed.

I gave the lead to the Shafer because it has a wonderful texture in the mouth that put it ahead of the others. All of them were great.

Mark
