Hi! I usually drive 60 miles to the nearest wine store, ask them for the manager there for his recommendation for a good Merlot in the $8/bottle range (with case and membership discount) then buy one case of his recommendation, a case of Forest Glen Merlot, and a case of some Merlot that looks interesting (my wife and I like Merlot, in case you could not tell). Then I drive back home 60 miles and over the next half year to a year we drink those 36 bottles. Now with gas at $1.50 a gallon and with my "car" a Suburban, it's going to cost me a lot of $$ plus take three hours time to do that. Can I get that type of advice and those kind of prices ("net") on the 'net (<G> ) and if so, where? Thanks.

Try www.popswine.com . They will charge $16.50 per case for S&H so we figure that would be cost effective.

A half year to one year to finish 36 bottles? I must be misreading your post. It takes me 36 days to do it, and where I live, I drive just about 60 miles to get to the best wine shop in the area.

I admit, I hadn't thought about the gas prices. The next time I go, I shall buy a lot more wine....

What a life you must live...all this thought and calculations for a bottle of wine...perhaps you should find a more local hobby, just so your family might see you more often...
