Ernest and Julio Gallo sure comes to mind quickly.

It may not be the right answer, but if I were asked this on "Who wants to be a millionaire", I'd stick by it.

Orson Wells did an add for Gallo "We sell no wine before its time." It was more than 15 years ago, not that I would remember.... (cough)

It was indeed Orson Welles, but it was for Almaden--not for Gallo.

Right pitchman, wrong brand. It was Orson Wells, but he was selling Paul Masson.

Who was that masked man?

You are absolutely correct, Catch 22. A momentary lapse here in "getting older" land...

Uh oh, I've just realized that I'm not as young as I'd like to think I am. Not only do I remember wine ads that are 15+ years old, but I also remember What's My Line. Foodie, slide on over and make room for me in "getting older land"....

Early commercials for $500
Is that your final answer?
Would you like to poll the audience?
Would you use a lifeline?
