NY doin's

I guess there were somebig doin's in the big city last week. One of my aquaintances was there, purchased a bottle of "primo" at auction...called the bottle something odd, said it was a large bottle about the quantity of 6. Being a mere novice, I didn't want them to have to "spell it out" for me, so..., I have no idea what they called it. Anyone know?

He was probably talking about a format bottle that holds the equivalent of 6 bottles. The name of this bottle style (for Bordeaux) is called a Jeroboam. If it was a Burgundy or a Champagne, it would be more correctly called a Rehoboam but most people still call it a Jeroboam.
