Planning ahead: Wine for Thanksgiving Dinner

A nice choice I just found that would certainly compliment a Thanksgiving feast is another Trentino pick, an affordable one at that! 1998 La Vis Pinot Nero is drinkable for even an unenlightened palate, (which we will inevitably sit next to at dinner somewhere!) It has a nice balance of fruit, softness and tannin that could easily accompany the variety of vittles served at such a meal. As many other Italian wines I've tasted, I never have a headache or that odd fuzziness after drinking it that I sometimes get with Chilean and low-grade California wines.
I enjoyed everyone's suggestions on this subject. How excited food and wine can make us!

I prefer the traditional Tom (sort of a yearly homage to poor Ben Franklin -- Turkey was almost our national symbol, remember?), but must confess that last year the smoked ham (with rum raisin gravy) was stripped bare -- hardly a soupbone left -- and we had leftover turkey for miles...
