Sisterdear and I visited with friends in DC for the weekend. One fellow sings in the Washington Chorus which performed the Bach B Minor Mass on Sunday afternoon in the Kennedy Center. What a magnificent concert! What a beautiful venue! On Sat. night our hosts cooked us a delicious rib-eye steak dinner with Yellow Tail Shiraz-Cab blend. The wine was easy to drink and fine with the beef. On Sunday night we went to Cafe Berlin, a darling German restaurant on Capitol Hill. I didn't have anything to do with the wine order but the guys ordered the house Merlot which was very tasty. I was disappointed that I didn't get to have some nice German wine, but oh well. I ate Jagerschnitzel which was out of this world. Of course we couldn't forego desserts which are homemade on the premises. A wonderful plum torte was my choice. We had complimentary pear schnapps which was delicious. Back at the house I had more than one glass of B&B which is my new favorite drink! Oh yum....that'll be in my house this holiday season! All in all we had a marvelous time in DC. It's a lovely city, made all the better with such great friends.

Georgie,
I used to get to Kennedy Center several times a year when I lived in Maryland (in the 70's). Once ran into a guy I had known when he was a soldier in Germany and was then a stage manager at the Kennedy Center.

Oh, I'll save the good stuff for when I've had too much wine at the offline.

Well, I attended the Carolina Panthers-Arizona Cardinals game Sunday but I didn't see: any fights break out, any beer cups thrown at players, any chairs thrown, any punches thrown--only roughhousing (outside the football game) was a competition of mascots from various NFL and college teams (Sourdough Sam from the 49ers, Atlanta Falcon mascot, U of South Carolina Gamecock, etc.).
