The wife and I haven't been out to eat in awile, due to work, school and a tite budget. So tonight we splurged and went to Red Lobster. We both had the coconut shrimp w/pinucolada sauce. I was realy wanting some wine with dinner and I reluctantly choose the Fetzer Sauvignon Blanc. I was thinking California white wine..... oak bomb. Now this is only the second SB I've had so I don't have much to go on. It wasn't as good as the one I had from NZ, But it was suprizenly good with the shrimp. There was definatly the presence of oak but not bad at all.

I love Sauvignon Blanc and with the dish you described I can see how the mango in the wine worked perfectly with the coconut shrimp! So glad you went "outside the box". Sometimes the world out there can surprise you!
