very disappointed in my latest bottle of 1997 Rancho Zabaco Heritage Vines. One of my favorite "cheap" zins, this one was definitely corked. The distinctive aroma hit me right away and the taste was flat, although the rich zin flavors tried to overcome the wet cardboard nose...alas, to no avail. This is the first bottle of my case (5 left) that has had this affliction; may it be the last.

Sorry to hear that Rags...do you believe that a liquor store in this area STILL has '97's of this wine left?...True!

that's pretty amazing! One could have easily passed on the 98 while enjoying the 97 and waiting for the 99 (which is almost as good as the 97 - just different).

I liked Zabaco's 98.

It was by no means "bad." I just preferred the 97 and 99. I recommend RZ to people as a good zin year in and year out...
