Here is a good example of a well balanced and yet full bodied Zin that is worth trying. A real mouthfull, it has all the characteristics of holding well. Relatively low tanins gives it an unusual softness for a Zin. This one is very consistent..LOL...I am a Zin/nut...this one is GOOD!!

hi irisman, and welcome to the board. i agree with you that the liar's dice is, year in and year out, a quite tasty bottling. for quite a few dollars less, u might wanna try the bogle old vines zin if you haven't already. very impessive juice and a steal at the price. also, the rancho zabaco dry creek valley reserve and the seghesio sonoma county deliver good bang for the buck, although the seghesio is pricing itself out of the bargain range IMHO.

Zins are definitely up there on my list. Have you tried any from Michael David Vineyards? I know the 7 Deadly Zins is popular, but their Earthquake Zin is scrumptious. I've found it around here on steal at $17.99 per.

For those of you in the California Area...Costco has "Liars Dice" for 13.99, and that's not a gamble at all!! CG, I have had and enjoyed Michael Davids wines but not the Earthquake Zin...I'lll give it a go...thanks

Gad, we have a case and 8 bottles of Liars Dice in the shop. You can reserve some when you call for the Lock Syrah, if you want.

KC I already called about the Lock Vineyard and ordered. Could you hold a few for me so I don't have to call back?

I've never really cared for the Liars Dice as it always seemed a little flabby for my taste particularly over the past 5 or so vintages.

I noticed that Sam's Club had this for 13.99 recently.
