2000 Benziger Merlot

At $12.00 per, it is an exceptional value. Soft tannins with a bit of blackberry and various other mixed fruit. The best straight Merlot value I have tasted in quite some time. Alc is 13.5% by vol. I picked up six bottles at a "value" tasting recently and wist I had bought more.

Enjoyed a couple of glasses of this with some chili tonight as we sat glued to the Weather Channel watching HurricaneIsabel. Really nice wine, IMO.
