Iff the Frombauge is Dolly Parton in gingjam and lace this hummer is Johnny Cash singing in Folsom. Purple with ruby rim. The nose is like walking into Penzeys. White pepper, cardamon, and allspice hit the nose with Alis' feft hook and then the black fruits, cigar-box, earth, and charcoal come thru. All come thru on the dense, almost chewy entry and the considerable tannins let you get a glimpse of the future before shutting this heavy-weight down. Remins me of the 82 Haut Marbuzet. A wine for the future. Needs another 6-9 to become civilized. 92/93. 25 by the box on futures. 12.5% alc. WW

Wow...when you said you'd get into it, you get into it! Loving the 2000 Bordeaux notes! Thanks.

Heck fire there Eng I've just started. Several years ago I went on a 92 Cabernet tasting spree out of the cellar that went on for months. Was also a tiring experience. That's why I'm breaking the 2000s' into probably 5 groups. Tasted and posted on around 10 of the petites when they were released. Will be going up the ladder for the next year except for the 1st growths. Will do the 2nd labels of the 1sts last as, from the ones I've tasted, they're awfully close to thew big boys. WW

Got a half-case of the stuff resting in the cellar. Sounds like there is no rush to open one.

Another day, another bottle. Wanted a wine with some muscle along with sophistication and tjhis baby hopped out of the cellar yelling "PICK ME". Glad I did. Seems to be progressing swimmingly. The tannins are still there but seem to have softened and the nose is starting to integrate nicely. This still needs at least another 4-6 for full maturation. Am tempted but no change in scoring for the time being. WW

I recall this one getting good reviews. Sorry I didn't get it but I still have a few bottles of the 2000 Latour Figeac which seemed to come into its own last year.

Made aa pot of chilli yesterday and remembered this muscular dude neede opening. Nose has improved a tad since the last bottle and there's some softening of the considerable tannins but this horse 'aint broke yet. For lovers of BIG juice you'll love this and am looking forward to the time whenced I open one of these dudies and sip it like a cooler. Not yet! No change in scoring. WW
