I've seen both

1996 Les Hauts de Pontet, Pauillac

and

1996 Chateau Benjamin de Pontet

Both of which are called "second wines" of Pontet-Canet. Does anyone know which one in fact is the real second wine and which is the third?

Well TE I've never heard about Benjamin being the 2nd of PC. Since the 95 vintage the Les Haut has produced some really fine juice. WW

Okay...rather confused now...I know that Sarget Gruaud Larose is the second wine of Chat. Gruaud Larose...tonight I picked up a case of La Roseraio de Gruaud......both are supposedly second wines...

Apparently there is also a Chevalier de Gruaud Larose which is a version 1.5...somewhere between version 1 and the two seconds......

I read about the potential that the Benjamin may be a France only version of PC, and the US gets the other label.....
