A pleasant surprise from Big Bob. Velvety texture personifies this jug. Nose coming on strong with cassis, dark ripe fruits, and sweet spices that all come across on the palate. Haven't tried a Reserve yet, but it'll have to really bring something to the table to outdistance this hummer. Still some soft tannins that'll take another 2-3 to dispose of and Yowzzer! A great P/Q wine at 19 a clatter per box. 91/94 WW

You're making me wish I had some of the '94. My '99 version is going to need some slumber time.

Yeppo WOW. Seems that every year I make a post on how dumb I was not to have stocked up on the big boys regular bottlings.( BV Rutherford, Mondavi Napa, Heitz Napa, etc). They never cease to offer a lot of drinking pleasure for the bucks at issue. WW

Mondavi has been consistent IMHO. Not being the new kid on the block, they sometimes don't attract attention like the new Chateau Overextraction does. I am still drinking some 87 Reserves with delight.

Had the last of the box yesterday. Doesn't seen to have meiised a beat. Slight bricking at the rim but no browning. Strong entry and center and if anything the finish has put on some muscle as it is a solid 4+ lapper. Take this sucker to 92 and lament how dumb I be not to have purchased more. WW
