RE: Happy Thanksgiving
We had a total of 10 here for the T-day dinner. No big fights! Four of us were wine drinkers and we took care of an '09 Tobin James Fat Boy Zin, and an '11 Blackstone Zin. For food we had smoked turkey over apple chips, cornbread and chestnut dressing, gravy made with stock from a turkey carcass in our freezer, mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, roasted veggies, and potato braid bread. Of course there was pumpkin pie for dessert mad with Long Island cheese pumpkin. Yum!!!

I visited my Dad & Stepmom in Mesquite, Nevada and we cooked for 17. Turkey, Ham, Stuffing, Cranberry/Cherry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Butternut Squash, Green Beans, Creamed Peas, Pumpkin Pie and Banana Cream Pie.... It was all pretty wonderful. We enjoyed several wines... an Italian Blush Frizzante, Red Chateau Veronique from the Langedoc Region, Bogle Phantom 2010. It worked out nicely.

Got back to California last night... Glad everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving. Now time for me to get back to work.

Cheers!

Jackie

Fairly quiet Thanksgiving, at least compared to the crowd scene in FL last year. Just Judy and me, along with daughter, SIL and two grandsons from NH. Roasted a turkey breast, slow cooked lamb shanks, and made the usual suspects for sides. Just Judy and I drinking, so I opened a 2007 Loring Wine Company Graham Family PN. A nice day.
