This is the bee's knees! If you can find it, buy it. It has to rate as one of the most interesting wines that I've had this year. It just has soooooo much going on. I bought a half case, I was hoping to see how this would evolve over the years.....I got two left.... KC, I'm bringing one over when I get back from Jolly Scotland.

We hope to visit our former exchange students and their families in Scotland later this year. Also hope to visit the Vaults of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society.

I would definitely go to Gordon and McPhail in Elgin.

Mike, I've not shopped for whisky in Scotland. Husbands of our former exchange students brought me gift bottles from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society when they visited over the last few years, or I would never have heard of that organization. The Society's HQ is in Leith and is called The Vaults, so I'm hoping to find time for dinner there, and a wee dram or three. Have been ordering a couple of bottles per month through the U.S. office in Florida, using their published tasting notes and my modest knowledge of whisky regions and styles. (Wife & daughter gifted me a membership in the society for my birthday back in September.)

#$$%@$%@#$^@$,....I nevergotout of my meetings in time to go ANYWHERE!!!!! Just one Whisky shop on Pricess that bottles its own stuffthat I gota 200mL bottle of. Much the same in London...Tooblood busy and this timehad to run through duty free to catch the plane, slowed onto to pay for a bottle of the Shackleton's MacKinlay 1907 antartic scotch re-created recipe. I think it was teh cheezy wooden box that got me and the reduced price of 79 GBP.

Anyone heard of this? Apparently someone who was looking at an Anartic station from 1907 found a few cases of scotch still there, a few in still drinkable condition. This is apparantly a re-creation of what it tasted like
