Greetings all I've acquired another orphan. this one is a NV 750ml of Royal Vinicola Grandjo' Demi-Sec. It was distributed by Austin,Nichols & Co., inc NY,NY. It is in a "stand up only" type bottle, the wine is clear and golden in color. The label also states, "Royal White Table Wine." produce of portugal. I've not had demi-sec before. Any word of wisdom? Thanks in advance. Gary.

Gary, with the last two posts you've got a good run on 'stump the Board.' Couldn't even find a match for Royal Vinicola on the Google search engine!

You need Drew to step in here with his expert sleuthing. cp

Gary, I don't know if I can help but here goes....

Demi-sec - Champagne brut's effusive cousin. This semi-dry, celebratory sweet Champagne lends a giddy fizz to fabulous food. Produced chiefly from Pinot Noir grapes carefully ripened to a pleasing sweetness on the hillsides of the Champagne region.

Still Demi-Sec Vouvray Fine yellow with a delicate green hue True Chenin Blanc of flowery style with a fine aromatic intensity Full fruit taste of green apples which will evolve into prunes and pears Excellent balance between acidity, sweetness and alcohol Long finish.

Sec - A French term meaning dry; it is usually applied to sparkling wines that contain a small but detectable amount of sugar. The wine is less dry than Brut but drier than Demi-sec.

All I can provide is definitions of demi-sec....sorry.

Drew

Drew, thanx for the input. I guess what i'm really looking for is a reply from those who have tried this wine and their thoughts. Hope you're well. Gary.
