So this is a pre-Phyllox production from what was one of the top Porto houses.

Solid firm grip with caramel nose. Coffee with hazelnut and fig on the mid palate. Strong tannins that really provide a firm grip that carries the smoothness through to the end with a long lingering pleasant finished. Consumed with a cigar by a fire pit. Couldn't have had it in a more perfect setting. While wine is my wife, porto is my mistress. Its naughty good.
