For Christmas I wanted to buy a nice port for my boss but I don't know what's good. Should I just go for the older, more expensive vintages?? I was thinking of sending along some fudge or brownies to go along with it...What do you think?

Hi xomolinoxo and welcome to the board. You can take two avenues here. This first and least expensive is to buy a 10 to 20 year old Tawny. They're great drinkers and less money than a Vintage port. The 75 vintage is drinking beautifully now. the 77 is still developing. See what your local retailor has and go from there. Have a happy holiday. WW

There are still several 83s and 85s on the market that can be for a song. The 1970 Taylor Port is very drinkable now and can be found for about $110.

If you want something odd, and a little less expensive. Find a vintage tawny...1977 Barros Tawny Porto. Should be around 30 to 35.
