Rosso di Montalcino at least three or four years old. You can go out and buy a '98 with no problem. For a brand, look for Le Coste for around $17 or 18.

CP, I think the 1998 Australian Domaine Wines (ADW) "Alliance" Shiraz, if you can find one at about $20, would be great. Great extraction, fruit, earth and mint.

Thanks fellas. As always, the suggestions sound outstanding. My original thought was Southern Rhone. May be tough to round up the Montalcino or ADW in this backwater. Dolcetto more likely. Will see what's around.
