His 99`s are just being released on futures. "Old and Mature Vines, some 100 yrs old, Shale Terrace, and Special Cuvee that`s not for the faint of heart.Scherrer Winery, 966 Tiller Lane, Sebastopol, Ca. 95472, Ph 707-823-8980. Winoweenie

Righto Bucko! For the board Fred was the winemaker at Dehlinger until his Dad agreed to let him have his Zin grapes from the old family plot. Some of the vines are over 80 years old, and the newer ones are 20. Some marvelous Zins have been made with Scherrer fruit , including some wonderful bottlings from Greenwood Ridge. His futures are from 195 to 225 per case, and derned well worth ebber peony. Winoweenie

Are his wines available other than mail order? I've never seen them. I'd like a bottle as my mothers maiden name is Scherrer.

Drew, Freds` wines are made in very small quantities. He does sell to some of the better wine shops and Restaurants in Calif. Have never seen them outside. You could call and see if he has a distributor in your area. They are worth the effort to obtain IMHO. Winoweenie

Drew,
If you want to I would go half on a case with you. provided this stuff is under $30 a bottle. I could swing by the next time i am in Maryland. If the Scherrer is too exspensive then maybe a bottle or two?

Hi Cd, as posted above his wines on futures are 195 and 225 per case. He also offers split case( 1/2 case of each of 2 vineyards, which You and Drew should probably do. The Shale Terrace and The Old & Mature makes a super bunch of BERRY , BERRY, good drinkin` Winoweenie Hehehe, culdn`t resist.
