Paso Robles. Dark, opaque reddish-purple in color, with a nose of blueberry jam and oak. Dark zin berry flavors are subdued on the palate behind a generous helping of oak, which should have been used more carefully, as otherwise it would have shown better. Velvet texture from the lingering tannins. Alc. not out of line at 13.9%. Paid $19 for it at Whole Foods. We matched it with BBQ ribs with Dreamland BBQ sauce (Anne), and fake BBQ "chicken" for me (the veg). Not bad, but it won't become our house Zin.
