Produced and bottled by Liberators, Lodi, Ca. From the inventive packaging (1 Liter Moonshine Jug ) to the juice in the jug this is a Kick-Patootie Bottle. Lovely raspberry, strawberry, brambly, spicy nose and all show up on the taste. Can't think of a more enjoyable pairing than this sucker with a big, juicy sirloin-burger. Oh Yeah!!! The price for the 1 liter is 8.99 here in Phoenix.Phone # 1-866-Jug-Boys. A P/Q steal. 86/94 ww

Really?! I saw this and assumed it was just a gimmick. Course, it's $11.99 here which may make it not such a steal.

Shortwiner, NY prices are a killer, and it is partly because distributors can get away with high mark ups at restaurants--retailers are stuck having to pay the same price because the laws demand a one-price wholesale sheet (which of course the big guys negotiate down, illegally, and get away with it).

Just talked with a guy yesterday who mainly sells wholesale to restaurants. He said to me that he could work with me (as a retailer) to bring the price in line for what I need on the shelf, which interprets to me as "his prices are already too high."

So be an aware consumer: metro area's exorbitant restaurant prices have an effect on retail prices, which is one reason I rail about restaurant wine prices.

You're right, WW, this is a very nice bottle. Had it this weekend with some Carribean stewed oxtails. Thanks--it's still a pretty good deal for $12.

I understand this is made by Joel Gott, one of my favorite QPR leaders these days. 2001 zin was a steal at $9.
