Eileen and I had steamed crabs yesterday late afternoon, with beer of course, after which we always crave something a little sweet so.......Buehler zin. Right out of the bottle flavors of briary zin with butterscotch. After 30 minutes the wine opened to display deeper zin and black fruit flavors with dark chocolate notes on the tannin laden finish. Buehler zins, to me, show the darker more subtle side of the grape with restrained sweetness which I like to pair with steaks and such where you might just routinely grab a cab. Nice wine but needs a little time in the bottle. 14.5% Alc/vol. Think I paid $15 to $20 range.
