I am looking for a distributor who will ship the following wines to me in Massachusetts. We don't have a distributor here. These are Zinfandels. Thanks!

Storybook Mountain Vineyard wines:
* 97 - 98 Napa Estate Mayacamas Range
* Howell Mountain

If my memory serves from my wine salesman days, these wines are mainly on allocation, which means unless you have an assured sale and a close friend who works for the winery or for the distributor, you are out of luck. I couldn't even get the wine to sell it, and the company I worked for distributed it; my territory was not considered good enough for the wine.

More importantly, what do you mean by "distributor?" Are you a retailer?

Chances are you won't find anyone who'll ship to you here in MA from the winery. Our ABCC has put a very tight clamp on shipments to consumers. However, if you know someone in CT, I've heard most wineries will ship there,preferably to a business address. Good luck.

As we advised the original posters in separate correspondence, Pops wine has one in two different sizes at www.popswine.com and will ship anywhere. RI is better than CT for shipments direct from wineries. A third strategy would be to go to a retailer with some clout, e.g. Kappy's, and have them special order it. Wholesalers are more likely to listen and respond to them than your Joe Blow local retailer. Be prepared to order at least a full case with this approach.

Thanks to all for your replies. I think I will probably end up ordering some from Pops, thanks to the information from Innkeeper. No Foodie - I'm not a retailer, just a regular Joe Blow! Thanks again.

OK Baystaters, within the past hour we were in Tanza Southway Liquors, 340 R.I. Avenue, Fall River, MA 02721; Tel: 508-673-6700. They had at least six bottles of the Storybook, Mayacamas Range, Zin for $20.99 per bottle. Go get 'em.

Inkeeper...I phoned your lead last night and they said they don't have any storybook. The search is still on! (But thanks anyway!)
