Opened way to early. Although the "Grandmere" designation is supposed to indicate the delicate and grandmotherly nature of this wine...it's a BEAST! Tons of tannins on the midpalate through the long, and somwhat hot, finish (15.5% Alc/vol) it seemed unbalanced with the tannins ruling the roost. Nice deep raspberry flavors with some spice and hints of chambord liquor on the finish. Methinks it will evolve into a stellar bottle but needs to settle down. With friends on the deck last night. $24
