Semi-dry Red Wine

My wife and I like White Zinfadel and Blushes, but are wanting to find a good red wine. We do not care for the dry wines like Merlot. Can someone suggest something just slightly sweet?

Hi Donald, and welcome. There will be a few other folks chime in soon, but here are a few suggestions to start you off. You might try Rancho Zabaco's 'Dancing Bull' Zinfandel, or popularly priced Woodbridge Zin. Another light and fruity red choice might be Montevina BRIOSO Zinfandel.

Yet another option might be one of the Australian Shiraz or Shiraz blends. Yellow Tail, Buckley's or Rosemont Diamond Shiraz, for instance, or Rosemont's Shiraz/Grenache blend.

If these are all still too dry for you, look for Gallo's "Twin Valley" Cafe' Zinfandel.
