This is a little advance tip for Wineboard readers only...it will be a featured item in an upcoming Mead On Wine. Right now it is only available at the winery tasting room, and with only 700 total cases, the score I'm going to give it and a 4-star gold from OC Fair, not much will ever reach the trade.

It's Geyser Peak 1997 "100 Year Old Vines" Zinfandel ($25)...vines are actually closer to 150 years old and come from the Cucamonga Valley appellation...15 1/2 % alcohol but smooth as glass. It's biggy, but elegant. Plum and berry fruit. If you're a Zin freak...do not miss this wine. JDM
