From Cordier Estates vineyards on U. of Texas property near Ft Stockton, Tx. A good nose but only modest palate of rather subdued Merlot fruit and a finish worthy of Speedy Gonzalez. 12% alc/vol and about $10. Nice enough with grilled burgers... that's probably what it's best suited for.

If you've had the l'Orval Merlot that's shipped in bulk from France and bottled here, this tastes like the same stuff. And indeed it should; l'Orval is produced at the same winery.
