Have y'all had this or do you have any ideas what Parker or others rate it? I'm taking it to a wine tasting tonight and am just guessing that it's a killer.

Haven't had it. RP rated a Kilikanoon Oracle 91 points but the vintage was not specified on the website. Another reviewer said the 2000 needs some time to bring fruit and oak together. Do a google search to the Kilikanoon Winery website and you will find both professional and consumer reviews. Sounds like a big, impressive wine that may be showing too much oak influence in its youth.

I found some info on the Kilikanoon web site, including the RP 91 comment. I think that this must be one of those boutique wines, of which we hear so much.

The higher production Siblings Grenache/Shiraz is just dandy, so I think this one will be also. I opened it during lunch, so we shall let it take a little air.

This is what RP sez about the Oracle in the Advocate, issue #143.

"A dense, full-bodied, more oaky-styled offering is the 2000 Shiraz Oracle. Aged in equal parts French and Anmerican oak (50% new),it easily conceals its 15% alcohol behind a blast of glycerin, black cherry and berry fruit, earth and creosote notes. It should drink well for 10-15 years." RP.

Oh, man, that was good stuff. At our tasting we brought three wines that someone had rated 90 and above and three wines that we thought just might be good. There were no bad wines there, but this one took the prize.

I'll write complete notes later, but if you get a chance, grab up the Oracle or anything else from this winery.
