Hello, I have been recieving wines mail order,(some from the global wine club found on wines.com). I'm in the midst of a bottle of my first experience with a shiraz wine, it's a 2003. I have two questions. I did not decant this wine before trying it and I left it in the fridge too long, (about 40 min). My first glass was not as "good" as my 3rd. While this seems an OK wine I'm not really impressed with it. I taste the fruit and what seems to be a touch of oak. I was hopeing to get a taste of Chocolate that I've read about in Shiraz's (although this label doesn't indicate that it should). I wondered if any of you have tried it and if so what you thought. I'm trying to develope my tastes as a newby to wines and wondered if this was typical of shiraz? This got so lengthy I'll check my second question for now, Thanks.

This is a shiraz from Victoria, which is a coller climate area. Try some shiraz from south Australia; ie Barossa, Clare valley, etc. I believe you'll find the shiraz your looking for.
