2006 Lindemans, Bin 40, Merlot, South Eastern Australia ($8.99 NH Liq Store). Alcohol level 13%. Dan Berger recommended this a "Bargain of the Week" several weeks ago. I said, "Gosh that's one we can get around here." So, picked one up shortly thereafter.

You all know that we are not over enamored with varital Merlot. This one is an exception. Don't know if you can do better with one under $10. For starters it is multi dimentional giving lots of red fruit and the customary plums on the nose and upfront. More fruit, some spice (!), and a hint of dirt amongst the smooth tannin in the middle. Nice complexity. The finish lasted longer than expected.

Mathced it with hamburgers and green beans almondine. Very nice Saturday night supper.
