I saw some 1991 Cape Mentelle Cabernet Sauvignon (West Australian) in a local store for US$18.99 a bottle. Anyone know what this would be like? Is the price right (for a good 1991 wine it seems like a good price). The store is a good wine shop, so I think the wine's been stored properly.

Actually I did manage to find some reviews of the wine, which were quite good, but written some time ago. For example, James Halliday, a very well respected Australian wine maker and writer, gave it a very high rating in 1995, but said that it was in its prime then. So perhaps it's well past its prime now.

That was the only reference to the wine that I could find and why I added that the Speculator wasn't the last word. Who knows, if the storage was good you just might have a fun night...have a back up bottle, though.
