1998 Taltarni, Pyrenees-Victoria, Shiraz ($15.00 Southern). Deep garnet color. Rush of black fruit, pepper and spiced coffee on the nose, that translates to upfront taste. Rich old vine inspired complexity, with more ripe blackberries, allspice, vanillic tones of oak, and smooth tannin across the palate. All followed by a delightful finish. Accompanied a dinner of broiled tenderloin steaks and leftover peas & pearl onions as nicely as one would want.

They not only have the Pyrenees of Oz, but also the Alps of Oz right there in Victoria.
