2003 Stellenbosch Kumkani Pinotage

Deep red in color, turning over to purple in flashes. Nose and entry of dark fruits, plums and black cherry, but more herbal qualities come out on the finish, but not unpleasantly. A bit of prickly spice came on late. It's a decent quaffer at $9 a pop, and it'd go well with BBQ or grilled meats. Nothing fancy, but it was a nice change-of-pace. Alc. 13.5%
