'99 Lindemans Bin 50 Shiraz

Has anyone else tried this delicious, fruity, and peppery shiraz? I find it to be a stunning young wine, at $9. Any thoughts about its aging potential?

Don't know about the 99', but the 98 was wonderful! Most everything I've ever bought from Lindeman's has been absolutely great for the money. As far as ageing, I've been conducting an experiment with one of their 95 cabs... all of Lindeman's wines are made to drink young, but I do believe they can age for at least up to five years, maybe longer... I'll let you know...

Popped open the 99' Shiraz last night after dinner and two other wines. Tremendous fruit! It was absolutely just jumping out of the glass at me! As cheap as this is, and as well made as it is, it's a great wine for those of you that don't want oak in a glass. Did I mention how the friut just kept jumping up and done in the glass, saying "DRINK ME! DRINK ME!"?????

Good wine, isn't it, wineco?! I have a hard time limiting myself to only a glass or two with dinner.

I thought that I had struck gold when a local store advertised Lindemans Bin 50 Shiraz for $6. It turned out to be the '98, which tasted flat in comparison to the '99. Perhaps the '99 will not age well after all, and I'll just have to drink up all that I have, as soon as possible...

Finally popped the cork on the 95' Lindeman's Cabernet Sauvignon about a week ago, and it held up well.... behaved as I expected, maybe even better. The longer the air hit it, the better it got. I don't know that I will make it a point to age any of these again in the future, but if I happen to have some in the cellar that I forget about for a while, I won't worry about them turning on me. I think it is safe to say they should be able to hold up for 5 to 10 years without worry.
