1998 Marchesato Degli Aleramici, Rosso di Montalcino ($18). Had been told that this was like a baby, user friendly, Brunello; ha, ha, ha. The "nice" salesman at Vino said it was very approachable; ho, ho, ho. Yeah, if you don't need the first three coats of enamel on your teeth. Don't get me wrong, this was a wonderful wine. We just drank it too soon. Another five years would have been perfect. It was huge with very strong tannin, but in balance with lots of good acid in particular. So, it will age nicely. It was not a total loss as we are both tanninatics, and it sort of set the mood as the Giants were being drubbed.

Drubbed is a good descriptive. I kind of like LAMBASTE, WALLOP, SHELLAC AND CASTIGATE a little better.

No longer a fan of any of 'em. Too much hoopla B.S., too little sport. Swore off when that Arkansan fired Mr. Landry in '89.

I know Mike, I was just trying to expand his vocabulary regarding his LAME team...
