2006 Beni di Batasiolo Langhe Nebbiolo

A Christmas gift from D; decided to try this with her eggplant parmesan, since she's planning another trip to Houston to visit her sister and will be within striking distance of Spec's, where she bought this last year. 100% Nebbiolo.

Raspberry-colored in the glass, nose of bing cherries and raspberries; obviously very young and fruity. Decanted in the "duck" for only an hour. Very, very fruity, how can this be a good food wine? But sure enough, it mellowed out with food to be very, very nice, with a lingering finish. 13.5% alc/vol and she probably paid about $20. Will definitely need to buy more.

I agree with you on this wine! Very much like this stuff and their very serviceable Barolos which start only about $15 north of this price point.
