1999 Fanetti Vino Nobile di Montepulciano de Riserva.

Perfect wine to go with a perfect Tv show on a rainy Sunday night. Baked lasagne to round out the package. Dreamy wine to go with existential episode 4. Old style unmanipulated Sangiovese makes me appreciate careful, thoughtful pure winemaking. Balanced yet dense, nothing excessive. Juicy ripe plums, spices like a perfectly seasoned pasta, a touch of fine leather reminds me of my favorite smelling coat. Long finish, should be ripe for many a year to come. I love catching a buzz without feeling drunk from too much alcohol in the wine. I just dropped a bundle on Brunello futures, and I'm sure they will be great, but at the end of the day an heralded beauty like this seems more worth it.

"Carmela, I feel young again."
