2001 Francesco Boschis, Pianezzo, Dolcetto di Dogliani ($13.98 Convito Italiano). Very nice dolcetto, once we escaped all the sediment. Poured the last quarter bottle through an unbleached coffee filter. When I rinsed out the bottle, enough crud came out to grow potatoes in. At any rate....

Vibrant black cherries and almond met the nose and tongue tip. More brisk fruit and spice, nice complexity, and smooth tannin across the palate, and a peasantly pleasant finish. Matched with Bistecco Alla Pizzaiola, which we had made specifically to go with this wine. It did.
