'99 Casiano-Colombaio Brunello di Montalcino Reserva

Picked up a magnum of this puppy today after seeing its WS95 tag. Figuring to hold it for at least a couple of years (more needed?), then serve it to our small study group from church with a hearty dinner. Suggestions for cellar time and menu would be welcome. Thinking about eggplant something or other for entree.

The group now numbers 15, but only 10 are imbibers. We meet in different members' homes each Sunday evening for a "themed" dinner and study, and I'm the one usually kicking in 2-3 bottles of appropriate wine. It's a good time with really nice folks. Figure I've got at least a couple of years to set 'em up for a nice Brunello before springing this one on 'em.

Looks like IK has recommended on numerous occasions aging to at least the 15 year point . So would need to decant for several hours if serving at 10 years....

A magnum is apt to mature even more slowly than a .750 liter bottle. However, some producers are parting with tradition to make their Brunellos approachable sooner. You might check with an Italian expert to see what style this producer follows. (Maybe it could even be opened a day ahead.)
