I would like to learn more about the different types of wine, as well as what to invest in. What is the best way to obtain this information?

Since you posted this under Italian Wines, we guess that is what you want to learn about. You might try: www.ulysses.it/ They have a lot of info on Italian Wine. You might also thoroughly peruse this site including this posting, For the Novice, Wine & Food Pairings, Best Buys, and others. On the postings you are most interested in, you can go back over a year to check things of your interest. Also, you might go to an online or brick and mortar book store, where you will find lots of good material on Italian Wine.

If by "investing" you mean earning money on laying down wines--forget it. Investing in wine for great profits is a myth perpetrated by the annual auctions and the xxxxxs who do not value wine for its true purpose: to have each day with dinner or friends.

If by "investing" you mean that you wish to buy wines to explore the sentiment I express in my last sentence, then a few good wine books, a lot of tasting experiences and some smart buying will give you years of pleasure and fun.
