Willamette Valley. Was a gift, but retails for $47. FWIW, WS 90 and WE 87.

Had to pop this one before I really would have preferred, as when it arrived in the gift shipment from my brother, the cork was noticably protruding from the top of the bottle and seemed to be held in only by the foil. Cork was sponge-like, and easily could be pushed back in. Removed the foil, and it was saturated, but I popped it out and low-and-behold -- the wine wasn't damaged. Good clear ruby color, but the nose was very restrained. Good black cherry fruit opened up after about an hour (was not decanted). Some spice elements and a bit of a mineraly note, but this was very tightly wrapped in tannins. Black cherries pop back into the picture on the finish. If I had any more, I'd hold them for 2-3 to see if the tannins soften. Alc. 13.5%

Found another bottle here in Atlanta for closer to $40 shortly after this post and held it until now. This one had no cork issues. Decanted 30 minutes before 1st pour and throughout evening. Nose not reserved this time, and just filled the room with black cherries and red spices. Tannins have smoothed to silk and combine with good acidity to frame great black cherry fruit. Still an earthy, mineral note. Cinnamon stick and clove on the finish. Great bottle, and seems ready to drink, if you have any.

KC, Does anyone source Domaine Serene in MA? Wouldn't mind trying one?

Domaine Serene is brought in by Classic. We don't carry it at the moment, but we sure can get it. The two available right now are thee 02 and 03 Evanstead and the Yamhill PNs.

Thanks KC. I appreciate the information!

I'll keep my eyes out as I only want to buy a bottle to try. If you don't mind, I'll come in and bug you if I get up to a case purchase for this.

KC, you've saved me a lot of time! Many thanks for that. Can I get one of each of the Domaine Serene's two offerings for MA. I'll come in and pick them up when they arrive.

Many thanks again!

Unfortunately, it's not that easy, TE. You're going to have to call the shop and place your order with the manager on duty (Rich is opening today, Charles in after noon). You have to give your info including a credit card number (which doesn't get charged until you come in to pick up the wine) and the wine you want. Remember, the book lists the 02 and 03 Evanstead and the the Yamhill. Phone number is 508.820.4900. Don't shoot the messenger, those are the rules and I don't make them, I just work there.

Engineer,
Did you ever open those Domaine Serene or Evenstad wines? A search didn't find your note.
