I ususally buy Marsannay's because of their generally lower price. Yesterday, I say an '05Domaine Sylvain Pataille, Marsannay selling for $92......... ouch....

At that price, you should expect the worse. Then if you get lucky (which ain't often at 22 bucks), you gloat for 3 minutes til you realize that you didn't buy more.
