1998 Domaine Vincent Girardin Santenay 1er cru "Les Gravieres" Vieilles Vignes $28

Lovely earthy nose with minimal fruit. Same on the palate with good tannin and acid. Opened up a bit after an hour to reveal some lush fruit and more earthiness.

Served with Grillpanned Coho Salmon, broiled zucchini and eggplant lightly coated in olive oil and spices (eggplant didn't turn out to well, but hey...chalk it up to experimentation). Long grain rice.

My French Pinot didn't get too terribly upset about being served with Oregon Salmon. They got along quite well actually. Another fine evening of wine and dine.
