Stumbled across this at Costco and the price was too good to pass up. From Albert Ponnelle. Tonight, with oak-grilled cedar plank wild Copper River salmon and grilled veggies marinaded in Italian dressing (sliced zucchini, yellow squash, pearl onions, bell peppers, mushrooms). Darker than most Pinot Noirs in my experience, not transluscent at all; spices and black cherries on the nose with a little smoky undertone (maybe just me); soft red and black fruit on the palate, lip-smacking, very nice finish. Danged bottle is too small! 13% alc/vol and $11.79. Went back and snagged a case.

That's too funny!!! I had wild Copper River Salmon tonight also with heirloom tomatos with a drizzle of port wine/balsamic vinegar and olive oil dressing. Paired with a Washington State Cab though.

The season for those wonderful fishies is 'way too short. Put four large fillets in the freezer, each cut in half to give us at least eight more meals down the road. Costco price is $9.99/lb while local supers have it at $19.99/lb. May buy more, since have found they keep in the freezer for 9-10 months before showing any sign of freezer-burn. Love 'em.

Count me in as a big-time lover. Had my first one back in 74 in Seattle that was sold smoked by the Indians. Can still taste that sucker. Took 10 lbs on the plane and my buddies in Salt Lake confiscated the entire load all the time telling me what a gem of a guy I be. WW
