Anyone know this wine?? We're getting ready for inventory and I came across a case of this - less one bottle - stuck up in the stacks behind some other stuff. I'm very ignorant on Burgundies, and I'm not afraid to admit it.

KC,

is there a 1er cru designation on this thing like Remoissenet Pere et Fils 1er Cru CLOS DE TAVANNES Santenay?

1969 was a pretty nice year for Burgundy and Remoissenet is a pretty respectable producer. His stuff is generally not cheap.

If it is a village level Burg, it might be tougher for it to survive than if it was a 1er cru from Santenay which is not known for its aging capability.

Then again, I could be totally wrong.... I could find no pricing for a village level bottle online. The 1er cru level is selling in England for about $100 a bottle with all of their high taxes.

How much are you picking up?

Back in the olden days when I bought Burgs I had loads od Remosssenent. I was under the impression he got caught up in the cheating scandal back in the 70s' and was put out of biz??? His was one of the Burgandies I liked. WW

Reminiscent of tank cars from Sicily.

Eng, The one we have appears tp be the regular Santenay - no evidence of a 1er Cru designation.
